Reported Education for Employers on Constitutional Law Misses Mark

When companies neglect state and constitutional law in order to operate according to their personal lifestyle choices, everyone suffers.

States like Utah that are distinct havens for religious followers are especially prone to harbor businesses that operate, and encourage operation among their staff, in deference to sectarian religious law before constitutional law. This mindset often results in harassment and lost opportunities for people who would otherwise be considered fellow community members.

Southern states (and others) are similarly challenged in today’s religious-political climate to offer non-discriminatory employment opportunities to their community members.

An article about discrimination in Utah highlights several of the ways in which an employee might perceive or experience so-called micro-aggressive harassments of various type, but largely neglects the idea of religious discrimination taking place in exactly the same ways . . . and neglects as well the idea that such aggressions are not unintentional but rather pointed methods of expressing dislike and possible ill intent.

Curtailing our problems of economic and religious discrimination run rampant means addressing the big fishes and elephants in the room.

Could this neglect of one our most damaging social issues be because there are so many people of the exact same religion in Utah that there are ‘no others to worry about’–no need to mention religious discrimination? Well, yes. According to the article, local chamber of commerce members held the meeting on what were the “most common” types of discrimination reported in Utah. This is a distinct opt-out.

We can surmise from the article that, in Utah, religious discrimination complaints would be low in comparison to the myriad other ways of discriminating against people.

The article does a fair job of detailing the other various harassment types that must be taking place to be addressed (and are currently grievances of the protected classes that are particularly in focus today in). Religious discrimination, however, isn’t really one of them, is it?

Rather, religious actors are busy in politics attempting to perform reverse psychology on the masses in an effort to dismantle our efforts at proper secular U.S. governance, and in doing so our vey Constitution.

It’s akin to the push on public education to include Bible education: there is no reason for this other than to open gateways to an increasingly omnipresent PUSH.
